Online Resource for Research Professionals Awarded Top Prize
Menands, N.Y. – January, 2011 – Health Research, Inc. (HRI) has been awarded the Grand Prize in the 2009-10 LISTSERV® Choice Awards Competition for its Research Administration Discussion List (RESADM-L).
HRI has provided free access to this valuable online resource for the past 17 years, helping thousands of industry professionals from universities, hospitals, and government and non-profit research labs share information and field questions for their peers. Focused on research grant administration, RESADM-L features such topics as grant funding, grant submission, regulatory compliance, project budgeting, educational opportunities, and technology.
Hosted by L-Soft, provider of LISTSERV® brand mailing list management software, the competition is the only industry-wide recognition program honoring the most interesting, creative, innovative or exemplary usage of e-mailing list technology. The jury was particularly impressed that RESADM-L has continued to serve as a daily mainstay of information and support for professionals since it was founded in 1993.
"On behalf of Health Research, Inc. and the RESADM-L community, I'd like to express our excitement for receiving this award for 2009-10," said HRI Administrator Mike Varney. "HRI and the research administration community as a whole are all greatly benefited by being able to use a resource such as the RESADM-L list to discuss topics such as funding and application rules, technology woes, job opportunities, and yes, even pass along a little humor from time to time."
He added, "We are all proud to be held up as a model example of how this technology can be used to enhance communication with our peers in the industry." RESADM-L is featured in professional literature as well as training and career development materials and is identified as one of the most important places to go when looking to achieve Research Administration Certification. RESADM-L also received an award for Distinguished Contribution to Research Administration in 2008.
