Health Research, Inc. (HRI), a not-for-profit corporation, seeks a Clinical Consultant. The consultant will be responsible for providing individual clinical consulting for the Public Safety Overdose Response Initiative (PSORI) field team. The sessions will include problem solving and skills building related engaging participants with mental illness and active substance use. They will also address burnout prevention and compassion fatigue. In addition, the consultant will provide updates on the progress of the sessions to the program leadership and be available should staff encounter clinical emergencies.
The Clinical Consultant must be a licensed clinical social worker with experience working in a harm reduction setting. Experience should include providing direct services to people who actively use drugs, and who are at risk of overdose and clinical supervision of other providers serving people who use drugs. The consultant must have her/his own office space in NYC in which the sessions can be provided. Private practice setup is preferred.
The timeline for this consultancy is approximately 5 months, with the potential for an extension should funding allow and services be satisfactory. Consulting is expected to be 1.5 hours/week plus 1-2 hours availability per month for providing updates to the program leadership and emergency clinical consulting to field staff.
