Health Research, Inc (HRI), a not-for-profit corporation, seeks Quality Improvement (QI) Consultants who will join a well-established and highly regarded team of public health professionals at the New York State Department of Health, AIDS Institute (AI). The consultant will be responsible for coaching Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program-funded recipients across the United States to build their capacity for QI resulting in improved HIV care at participating ambulatory care sites and health departments and in meeting legislative expectations. The consultant will report directly to the Program Director.
The consultant will provide training and support to develop capacity for QI; identify opportunities for improvement and conduct projects to improve HIV care; assist sites with the development and coordination of clinical quality management (CQM) programs; participate in regular meetings and conference calls with AI staff and funders as necessary; submit documentation on monthly coaching activities and document these activities in the on-line database; provide support to programs that participate in national QI collaboratives; facilitate QI trainings and webinars; and provide guidance to QI groups.
Candidates must have relevant experience in the management of health/human services and/or regulatory programs and in the operation or oversight of quality management programs in a public health setting. Experience must include development of systems for operation of quality management programs. The individuals should be knowledgeable in the processes of quality improvement/management group facilitation team building, capacity building of clinical providers, developing, implementing, evaluating and overseeing ambulatory clinics, city or state health departments; providing consultation; experience with CQM policy; mentoring multi-disciplinary teams and/or QI in managed care organizations; other desirable quality projects, working with people with HIV and community groups; developing and providing QI training programs for healthcare professionals and developing protocols for ensuring compliance with practice guidelines and regulations; strong analytical, interpersonal, oral, writing and computer skills. Experience with Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program-funded recipients desirable.
