Thank you to everyone that completed our recent survey on Funding Opportunities. We received a very good response rate and are analyzing all of that data now. One important thing we found out is that 75% of you are not aware of eGrants, the funding opportunity database that HRI currently subscribes to. We apologize for that and are passing along the information now!
eGrants is a comprehensive database of funding opportunities in health care, medicine and related fields and provides valuable information on:
- Federal grants
- State grants
- Local government grants
- Local and National Foundations
- Corporations and Other funding sources
Use this link if you are creating your account for the first time – http://egrants.net/public/activate.cfm
- The Activation code is: 83752918
- Complete the remainder of the form and click Activate My Account. (Note that you are able to click on Key Terms and have new opportunities emailed to you. If you don’t find a Key Term(s) that interests you, just click “No” for email notifications.)
- Now that your account is set up, you can go up to the top and click on “Search”
- Enter any Keyword that you wish and click “Search”
Another great resource is Grants.gov. Grants.gov provides one central portal where organizations and individuals can electronically find and apply for grants throughout the federal government. Grants.gov is THE single access point for over 1,000 grant programs offered by the 26 federal agencies that make grants.

- Click on “Search for Grants” along the top
- Upper left-hand corner under Search Grants, you’ll see “Keywords”. Enter your specific keywords in this field
- Scroll down to Eligibility and click BOTH: 1) Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education and 2) State Governments
- Scroll down to Category and click “Health”
- Hit SEARCH!
