A preliminary injunction against DOL’s new federal overtime rule was filed in federal court on November 22, 2016. For now, the overtime rule will not take effect on Dec 1, 2016 as planned; however it may be implemented at a later date. Considering this, HRI is going to postpone changing the GRAs from salaried to hourly employees. We will continue to investigate all of our options to prepare for the possible reactivation of the law. More information will be released as it becomes available.
This only applies to GRAs; the changes to Research Affiliates will remain in effect in order to achieve parity with the NIH’s guidelines.
