As you may recall, in 2012 the federal government issued revised Financial Conflict of Interest Regulations. One of the requirements of the new regulation was that applicants and currently funded investigators were required to complete a brief training course in Financial Conflicts of Interest. In addition, all persons involved in your research project that are responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of the research, must also complete the training. This may include PIs, Co-investigators, Key Personnel, Collaborators, and Consultants.
All investigators that have a current award, or will be applying for funding, from the Public Health Service (AHRQ, ATSDR, CDC, DHHS, FDA, HRSA, IHS, NIH, and SAMHSA), and covered staff, must complete the training and submit a Certificate of Completion. Failure to complete the training by this deadline will cause delays in accessing funds and submitting your new or continuing applications.
HRI policy requires, that ALL investigators that have a current award, or will be applying for funding regardless of the source, must complete the training.
The training requires recertification every four years. Several of you completed this training in the late summer of 2012 and therefore are due to re-certify. Please follow this link for the instructions. Please review and complete the training before your certification expires. If you are unsure of that date, please inquire with your HRI grant administrator.
